How to Deal with Depression?
Depression is a very serious, delicate issue and a matter of concern for not only India but also for the entire world. It has become a very common problem and over 10 million cases are found per year only in India. It's common from the age of 6 and it starts getting very common as we grow old. In other words, the older you get the more chances of depression are there. There's nothing to be afraid of it, having depression or going to a psychiatrist doesn't mean that you are a lame-brain! According to the research, it's treatable by medical professionals and is a medium-term syndrome which resolves within months, requires medical diagnosis, lab tests and imaging if required.
But this is all about the treatment; what about the prevention? Prevention is always better than cure. Most of the times the reason or probably the main reason I found behind it is that we are so much into other materialistic things that we often severely neglect ourselves. And that ignorance level is way extreme, if not then ask yourself, when was the last time you looked into the mirror, without any reason but just to see yourself; how are you looking, just to observe a bit? When was the last time you ate your favorite food? Or gave time to your hobbies, to your loved ones? Okay! Happiness is precious, do you remember when was the last time you had a smile on your face? Or laughed/cried your heart out?
Ta Da!! Even you don't know the answers. And it's horrible that you neglect yourself to this extent!! What else can happen to you? Even a rope to skyscrapers anything beyond it's endurance level can't hold the tension; they break up and down. Depression is obvious in such situation where you try to be a machine but you can't be because you're a human and you need something (s)!
Don't be a slave by living on others terms and conditions. Neither you need to be your own boss, treat yourself as you would treat your lover. Self-love always comes first and it must be. Don't run after money; the satisfaction you receive from it is transient. Stop it right now! It's never too late to realize and improve. Supersede the worries with a million tons of happiness. Don't be a skeptic; take yourself out of those terristial places and travel a lot. Walk barefoot on the grass, wake up a bit early in the morning, see the rising sun, let the fresh breeze touch your body inside out, do some meditation, yoga, look for the adventures, start exploring the world around you, do something which makes you feel whimsical, spend some time with yourself alone, stop starving yourself to lose weight; work hard instead, eat your mind full, manage some time for your loved ones, create your own space and let nobody enter it. I repeat NOBODY.This is the only life you've and don't spend it in thinking, worrying and ending up being depressed. Always stay young at heart. Be a lil' childish cause we know now that this is the best prevention and the way for -
